Fraunhofer IGD

Logo IGD As early as 1987, a working group set up in Darmstadt by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft began conducting research. Out of that, the Fraunhofer IGD was created in 1992, which today has a total of 13 research and development departments at four locations - in Darmstadt, Rostock, Graz (in the "Visual Computing" business unit of Fraunhofer Austria) and Singapore. The Fraunhofer IGD collaborates closely with the Technical University of Darmstadt, Rostock University, Technical University of Graz and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. By doing so, it strengthens its research competence at the locations, both in terms of staff and technical expertise.

Prof. Dr. techn. Dieter W. Fellner, manages the Fraunhofer IGD and at the same time serves as a full professor who heads the department of graphically interactive systems at the TU Darmstadt. There are over 170 employees working throughout the various departments at the locations. Processing projects and orders reliably, on time and in a customer-oriented way is considered a matter of course. Evidence for this is our long standing certification according to ISO 9001.
